Fleming Gulf to organize Ciy Transport Middle East
Added: 07/16/2010 - Natasha Jiandani

Everyone’s heard of the rapidly growing population in the Middle Eastern region resulting in increased infrastructural spending; but it’s important that the use of these facilities do justice to the high costs incurred in their construction.

Studies show that the GCC Countries will invest over US$ 119.6 billion in infrastructure over the next ten years, dominated by rail projects. To be able to gain maximum returns from such enormous investments, steps have to be taken to facilitate a transition of the people from a population highly dependent on private modes of transport to that reliant on public facilities.

Transport infrastructure investment in this region has reached a new high, but ironically, so has the private expenditure on cars. Cars are a big part of the Middle East resulting in the hope that increased metro investment will see car numbers drop and with them, carbon emissions and congestion. However in such a developed part of the world, stressing the importance of alternative forms of travel has gained more importance than ever.

Fleming Group of Companies, one of the leading conference producers in the world has just declared its City Transport Middle East Conference, due to take place on the 2nd and 3rd of November, 2010, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, which will discuss issues specific to public transport infrastructure in the region and its deployment.

The theme being 'Smarter, Safer and Sustainable’ modes of transport, this conference will take up discussions like Intelligent Transport Systems, Smart Parking Management, Management of Traffic Growth and Congestion, and Safety in Transport Planning to name a few.

This conference will bring together local governmental and regulatory bodies involved in these projects, together with urban planners, contractors and consultants from all over the world, who will demonstrate their products and services to the niche and targeted delegates that will be present allowing them to develop highly lucrative and valuable business relationships.
