Over the past two years, the education community in Northern Kentucky has had an ongoing discussion on how to best align programs, staff and goals in order to better support the students and school districts in our region. As the dialogue progressed, three organizations came to the forefront as potential agents for change: Northern Kentucky Council of Partners in Education, Vision 2015 Education Implementation Team, and the Education Alliance of Northern Kentucky. While all three organizations have a long-standing reputation in our community, they share an overlap in membership and goals. Further, with increasingly limited resources, these organizations continue to look for ways to better align resources. As a result, these three organizations have agreed to work collaboratively to maximize resources and to achieve the highest potential outcomes for student success.
The product of this collaboration is the transformation of the Northern Kentucky Council of Partners in 2010, which will become the catalyst behind our regional education goals as detailed in Vision 2015. Northern Kentucky will have a signature P-20 council that will engage the community in ensuring that our region exceeds national education standards at every level. Equal support and funding from the education, business and civic communities will be the hallmark of the new Council, which will bear the new name of the Northern Kentucky Education Council. As the Council drives our regional goals, our community will be able to measure how we are making progress for our students, birth through career; funders will be better able to determine how to wisely invest money in education programs, and schools will have the opportunity to communicate their achievements as well as their needs with the greater public.
