The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO), the Philippines' premier orchestra and the resident orchestra of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), is in need of a Music Director and Principal Conductor whose term will commence on May 2009 and end on April 30, 2012.
The main tasks of the Music Director is the following:
Prepare and oversee the implementation of a three year plan for the orchestra, covering thrusts, programs, concert seasons, training of musicians and other related activities.
Conduct daily rehearsals of the orchestra.
Program PPO performances, recommend and initiate negotiations with guest artists
Conduct a certain number of performances per month.
The Music Director and Principal Conductor shall be paid a monthly salary of $3,000 (Three Thousand US Dollars), subject to appropriate tax for foreign workers and shall be provided accommodations.
