Due to our rapid expansion we have outgrown our office at Kemp House and began searching for a larger alternative. We looked at a lovely listed building in Chislehurst, a modern new build in Bromley North and a shop close to home. All were very nice but were rental and we really wanted a freehold property.
After giving the matter more thought the elephant in the room slapped us in the face with his hairy trunk and we realised that the solution was staring us in the face! We have ample land at home to build a state of the art self contained office, kitchen and cloakroom. Plans have been drawn up, regulations checked and the button pushed to go this coming Monday 20th October.
The project is being undertaken by the newly formed Smart construction and maintenance team headed by Sam our office managers partner Tyrone an experienced builder. We have a property which we have rented out for the past eight years but became concerned that it wasn't being looked after properly. The tenants refused midterm inspections so we issued a section 21. We finally got Possession three weeks ago and discovered that it had been completely trashed.
Tyrone and his team moved in and took control and completely refurbished the property. They fitted a new kitchen and appliances, renewed all sanitary ware in both bathrooms and a new combi boiler and radiators. Front and rear gardens were landscaped and a leak in the garage fixed.
Fishneedwater were the first letting agent that used us when we opened three years ago and to repay their on-going loyalty to us we have instructed them to handle the sale.
Returning to the office, when built we will be employing a full time administrator and a government backed employee for office duties and a trainee clerk.
We welcome a new trainee clerk Nicky who has joined us from Daisy Let's and is shadowing Steve on jobs at the moment. We also welcome Ian an experienced clerk of some ten years who will be coveting jobs all over London.
The business is expanding all the time and will soon dominate in London and the Home Counties, it is hoped that the model will be run out across the UK with franchisee’s in all major towns.
Unfortunately, Louise - Steve's daughter is going back to dentistry and we are sorry to see her leave but wish her every success in the future.
